Struggling artist and part-time barista Larry Deker is offered a somewhat bizarre and unconventional business opportunity.  Margaret Forsythe, a hard-working interior designer, is trying to make ends meet. As their paths converge, Larry and Margaret encounter confusion, deception, and mistaken identities in their search for the true meaning of friendship.

A staged reading for an early version of That’s What Friends Are For took place in 2014 at the Orleans Star-L’Express Music Rehearsal Hall, Shenkman Arts Centre, Ottawa, Ontario, by Tale Wagging Theatre, directed by Arras Hopkins. The reading received an ARTicipate Endowment Fund grant.
